Vijay Eswaran is a Malaysian businessman. He was born in 1960 in Penang, Malaysia. His mother was a teacher, and his father was the founder of the Malaysian Hindu Youth Organization. Although Vijay Eswaran came from a humble background, he managed to put himself through college by working as a taxi driver. In 1984 he graduated from the London School of Economics with a degree in social economics. He also got an expert qualification in binary system marketing from CIMA in the UK during his year of travels there. In 1986, he graduated from Southern Illinois University with an MBA. During this time he worked as subordinate in IBM for systematic. He was also involved in multi-marketing, but he only did it as a part-time job. Thirteen years later, he relocated back to Malaysia, after Cosway Group convinced him to establish its business in the Philippines.

Vijay Eswaran is the co-founder of the QI group, a multi-level marketing corporation, located in Kuala Lumpur. His company has grown to offer services in twenty countries all over the world. He branched out into the telecommunication industry where he has made a fortune. He has also invested in many other enterprises in the retail, hospitality, education and real estate industries. Vijay Eswaran was on the Forbes list for Malaysia’s fifty richest people in 2013 with a net worth of approximately five hundred million dollars. He is an author of two books, in the sphere of silence, published in 2005 and two minutes from the abyss, published in 2017.

Vijay Eswaran is a very charitable man. He made it his mission to help the less fortunate in society. He made sure that his company gave ten percent of its profits to charity and through this donations, he established the Vijayaratnam foundation as well as the RHYTHM foundation, which focus on helping children living with disabilities and community development in the Middle East, Asia, and Africa He also runs a mentorship program where he talks to young entrepreneurs. In collaboration with the local government, he was able to start and chair the Quest International University Perak in 2011.
